Something unexpected happened last Friday. All three of my children fell asleep really late in the day....at the same time.
Sam on my bed, Nora in her crib, and Jack on the couch. It was the weirdest feeling.
I knew this meant bedtime would be pushed to later than normal....ugh....but I couldn't bear to wake any of them up. All three of them napping at the same time? That never happens! A few minutes of quiet to myself?! Yes please!
So instead, I let them rest...enjoyed my quiet time...and called Kurt to tell him we had to go somewhere that night with
our soon-to-be-energized kiddos who would need to be worn out in order to go to bed at a semi-decent hour.
So as soon as he walked in the the door that night, we headed out for a summer evening at the park.
It was perfect. We had the place to ourselves. So quiet, so peaceful. The air was so warm and the sand even warmer.
And we did, indeed, wear them out....so we picked up slurpees on the way home and put our little herd to bed.
My idea of a perfect Friday night.
